Redirect URL Event Setup

The Redirect URL Event feature enables users to configure events that redirect users to specific URLs. This includes both local and external URLs, allowing for versatile redirection scenarios.

Overview

This feature supports configuring redirection events with either local or external URLs. Users can specify details such as title, description, and the target URL to customize the redirection behavior.

Configuring a Redirect URL Event

Configure Redirect URL Event with Local URL

To set up a "Redirect URL" event to a local URL:

  1. Title: Enter the title for the redirection event.
  2. Description: Provide a description for the redirection event.
  3. URL Type: Select the URL type as Local.
  4. URL: Enter the local URL to redirect to.

Steps:

  1. Alice Johnson is setting up a "Redirect URL" event.
  2. Enter the following details:
    • Title: Redirect to Dashboard
    • Description: Redirecting to the local dashboard page
  3. Select the URL type:
    • URL Type: Local
  4. Enter the local URL:
    • Local URL: /dashboard
  5. Save the configuration.

Outcome: The Redirect URL event will be configured with the specified title, description, URL type, and local URL.

Configure Redirect URL Event with External URL

To set up a "Redirect URL" event to an external URL:

  1. Title: Enter the title for the redirection event.
  2. Description: Provide a description for the redirection event.
  3. URL Type: Select the URL type as External.
  4. URL: Enter the external URL to redirect to.

Steps:

  1. Alice Johnson is setting up a "Redirect URL" event.
  2. Enter the following details:
    • Title: Redirect to Google
    • Description: Redirecting to the Google homepage
  3. Select the URL type:
    • URL Type: External
  4. Enter the external URL:
    • External URL: https://www.google.com
  5. Save the configuration.

Outcome: The Redirect URL event will be configured with the specified title, description, URL type, and external URL.

Validate Redirect URL Configuration

To validate the Redirect URL configuration:

  1. Action: Review the configured details.

Expected Outcome:

  • Alice Johnson should see the configured values for:
    • Title
    • Description
    • URL Type
    • URL

Trigger Redirect URL Event

To trigger the Redirect URL event:

  1. Action: Ensure the trigger conditions are met (e.g., user clicks a button or completes a form).

Expected Outcome:

  • The system should redirect the user to the configured URL based on the event setup.
