DB Backup and Restore

Overview

As an organization admin, you can manage database backups and restore operations through the DB Backup and Restore section. This feature allows you to schedule periodic backups, create manual backups, and restore databases as needed. Additionally, you can track backup and restore activities using the DB Logs.

Setting Up Periodic Backups

When logged in as an organization admin on the DB Backup and Restore page:

  1. You can configure periodic backups with details like name, description, and interval.
  2. Available backup intervals are:
    • 8 hours
    • 12 hours
    • 24 hours
    • 3 days
    • 7 days
  3. Periodic backups will automatically execute at the specified interval.

Creating a Manual Backup

To create a manual backup:

  1. Log in as an organization admin and navigate to the DB Backup and Restore page.
  2. Click on "Create Manual Backup" and confirm to initiate the backup process.
  3. The system will generate an SQL file of the current database, which will be stored and listed in the DB Restore section.

Restoring from a Backup

To restore the database from a backup file:

  1. Go to the DB Restore section on the DB Backup and Restore page.
  2. View the list of available backups, which will indicate:
    • Backup type: Scheduled or Manual
    • Date and time of each backup
  3. Select a backup file and click "Restore" to initiate the process.
  4. During the restore operation:
    • The system will take a current backup of the database before restoring.
    • All services across the organization will be temporarily halted and will resume automatically after the restore is successfully completed.
⚠️

Important: The restore process will temporarily stop all operations across the organization.

Deleting Backup Files

To delete a backup file:

  1. In the DB Restore section, locate the backup file you want to delete.
  2. Click on the delete option next to the backup file.
  3. Confirm the deletion to permanently remove the file.
