User Management - Permission Sets
Overview
As a user with system configuration privileges, you can manage permission sets, including their roles and access permissions.
Viewing Permission Sets
When logged in as a user with system configuration privileges and on the Permission Sets Management page under User Management:
- You will see a list of all existing permission sets.
- Each set will display its role name and status (Active or Inactive).
Adding a New Permission Set
To add a new permission set:
- Log in as a user with system configuration privileges and go to the Permission Sets Management page under User Management.
- Click the "Add Permission Set" button.
- Enter a role name.
- Select the status as "Active" or "Inactive".
- Click the "Save" button.
- The new permission set will be created.
- A confirmation message will indicate the set has been added.
- The new permission set will appear in the list of permission sets.
Editing an Existing Permission Set
To edit an existing permission set:
- Log in as a user with system configuration privileges and go to the Permission Sets Management page under User Management.
- Select the set from the list that you wish to edit.
- Click the "Edit" button.
- Update the role name.
- Update the status to "Active" or "Inactive".
- Click the "Save" button.
- The permission set will be updated.
- A confirmation message will indicate the set has been updated.
Deleting a Permission Set
To delete a permission set:
- Log in as a user with system configuration privileges and go to the Permission Sets Management page under User Management.
- Select the set from the list that you wish to delete.
- Click the "Delete" button.
- A confirmation prompt will ask if you are sure you want to delete the permission set.
- Confirm the deletion.
- The permission set will be removed from the list.
- A confirmation message will indicate the set has been deleted.
Viewing Details of a Permission Set
To view details of a permission set:
- Log in as a user with system configuration privileges and go to the Permission Sets Management page under User Management.
- Select a permission set from the list.
- You will see the full details of the selected set, including its role name and status.
Canceling Adding a New Permission Set
To cancel adding a new permission set:
- Log in as a user with system configuration privileges and go to the Permission Sets Management page under User Management.
- Click the "Add Permission Set" button.
- Enter details for the role name and select the status.
- Click the "Cancel" button.
- The permission set will not be created.
- You will be redirected back to the Permission Sets Management page without changes.
Canceling Editing a Permission Set
To cancel editing a permission set:
- Log in as a user with system configuration privileges and go to the Permission Sets Management page under User Management.
- Select the set from the list that you wish to edit.
- Click the "Edit" button.
- Make changes to the role name and status.
- Click the "Cancel" button.
- The changes will not be saved.
- The permission set will remain unchanged.
Searching for a Permission Set by Role Name
To search for a permission set by role name:
- Log in as a user with system configuration privileges and go to the Permission Sets Management page under User Management.
- Enter a search term in the search bar.
- A list of permission sets that match the search term will be displayed.
Configuring Permissions for a Permission Set
To configure permissions for a permission set:
- Log in as a user with system configuration privileges and go to the Permission Sets Management page under User Management.
- Select a permission set from the list.
- Click the "Configure Permissions" button for that set.
- You will see a permission board with options to set permissions for modules, menus, windows, and dashboards.
- Each option will have checkboxes for Create, Read, Update, and Delete operations.
- Select/deselect all checkboxes as desired.
- Click the "Save Changes" button.
- The permissions for the permission set will be updated.
- A confirmation message will indicate the permissions have been updated.
